Self-Worth

I reject the notion that I set my own worth. That I myself just happened to stumbled upon an elevated ego. “Self-worth” is a deceptive phrase if you ask me. Because it’s not sustainable.

See, just like any human, I’m susceptible to influences of other fallible humans and thus if my value was based on what I thought of me, or worse what they thought of me, I would be grossly undervaluing myself. My worth was set by my Lord and savior Jesus Christ who decided I was worth DYING for. Before I knew Him, I thought I was worthless. Foolish, used, abused, broken, tarnished…… waste.

So no, my worth is not base on what I think or feel about me, or what man tells me about me. And that is why no man can devalue me, cheapen me, or dim my light.

How I value me is a result of how He values me.

He values you the same.
